On this Victorian floor restoration project in West Bridgford, Nottingham, we had to remove a thick coating of paint. Previously, the floor was painted black on the edges, and a runner was placed down the center, making it necessary to consider both Edwardian floor cleaning and Minton floor cleaning techniques to achieve the best results.

We carefully performed Edwardian floor cleaning to remove the salts, then cleaned the surface and applied an inhibitor to prevent further salting, similar to the techniques used in Minton floor cleaning and Victorian floor restoration.

This Herringbone pattern floor had been painted with red floor paint which had worn off in most areas but the remaining paint and dirt build up had made it rather unsightly, deep clean and a colour enhancer was applied.

This Terrazzo floor was dull and lifeless and had an area of efflorescence to remove, we ground the surface re-polished and sealed with an impregnating seal.
